Classic Walnut Banana Bread
Moist and Nutty Banana Bread with Crunchy Walnuts
Ingredients:
3 ripe bananas, mashed
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
3/4 cup brown sugar
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 cup sour cream or Greek yogurt
3/4 cup chopped walnuts, plus more for topping
Directions:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
In a large mixing bowl, combine mashed bananas, melted butter, and brown sugar. Stir until smooth.
Add eggs and vanilla extract, mixing well.
In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
Gradually add dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring gently.
Fold in sour cream and chopped walnuts until just combined. Do not overmix.
Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and sprinkle extra walnuts on top.
Bake for 55–65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
