Creamy Mushroom Marsala Sauce

Silky Creamy Marsala Mushroom Sauce with Garlic and Fresh Herbs

Ingredients:

2 tablespoons unsalted butter

1 tablespoon olive oil

2 cups cremini or white mushrooms, sliced

2 garlic cloves, minced

1/2 cup Marsala wine (dry or sweet)

1/2 cup heavy cream

1/4 cup chicken or vegetable broth

1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves (or 1/4 tsp dried)

Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Optional: 1 tablespoon chopped parsley for garnish

Directions:

In a large skillet, melt butter and olive oil over medium heat.

Add sliced mushrooms and cook until golden brown and tender, about 6–8 minutes.

Stir in minced garlic and thyme; sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.

Pour in Marsala wine and bring to a simmer, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan. Let it reduce by half, about 3–5 minutes.

Stir in broth and heavy cream, and reduce heat to low. Simmer gently for 4–5 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.

Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Optional: Sprinkle with chopped parsley before serving. Serve warm over chicken, steak, pasta, or mashed potatoes.
