Crispy Ginger Beef
Sweet and Spicy Crispy Ginger Beef Stir-Fry
Ingredients:
1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced into strips
1/3 cup cornstarch
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons rice vinegar
1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
2 garlic cloves, minced
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
1/2 cup beef broth
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 teaspoon sesame oil
1/4 cup green onions, sliced
1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)
Cooked jasmine rice, for serving
Directions:
In a bowl, toss the beef strips with cornstarch until evenly coated. Let it rest for 10 minutes.
In a separate bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, rice vinegar, hoisin sauce, ginger, garlic, red pepper flakes, and beef broth.
Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
Add the beef in batches and fry until crispy and browned, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove and drain on paper towels.
Discard excess oil, then add the sauce mixture to the pan and bring to a simmer.
Return the crispy beef to the pan, stir to coat in sauce, and cook for 2–3 minutes until the sauce thickens and glazes the beef.
Drizzle with sesame oil and sprinkle with green onions and sesame seeds.
Serve hot over jasmine rice.
